Lunacy: Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says American infrastructure has ‘racism physically built’ into it

(Natural News) The lunatics on the left have cried ‘racism!’ ‘racism!’ so often now that literally everything in America is racist.

Of course, if everything is racist then nothing truly is — not the least of which is actual racism, as in, treating someone poorly because of their ethnicity and/or skin color. But the left has decided that definition is nowhere near expansive enough.

When Donald Trump was in the White House, he was literally accused of doing or saying something racist almost every single day.

Even when the former president went out of his way to help minorities in America, such as implementing economic policies that brought black and Hispanic unemployment to record lows or when he signed prison reform legislation or provided historic funding for black colleges, he was still a ‘racist.’

The left used the term to describe Trump (and inappropriately) so often it had no more real meaning anymore. But that hasn’t stopped these gaslighters from continuing on even after Trump has left office.

In a recent interview, ‘Mayor’ Pete Buttigieg, who didn’t get very far last year in the 2020 Democratic primaries but who somehow earned the right to become Biden’s Transportation Secretary, actually said that American infrastructure is “racist.” Not even kidding.

During an interview with a blatant racialist, TheGrio’s April Ryan, Buttigieg pandered to her and her audience by doing the ‘white male groveling’ act.

“If you’re in Washington, I’m told that the history of that highway is one that was built at the expense of communities of color in the D.C. area,” he said. “There are stories and I think Philadelphia and Pittsburgh [and] in New York, Robert Moses famously saw through the construction of a lot of highways.” (Related: Why Trump is RIGHT about America’s failing infrastructure.)

This “wasn’t just an act of neglect,” he said, but was a “conscious choice.”

He also claimed that roads and highways have “racism physically built in” because they were purposely designed to divide communities of color from everyone else.

“There is racism physically built into some of our highways, and that’s why the jobs plan has specifically committed to reconnect some of the communities that were divided by these dollars,” he said in describing Biden’s massively expensive, $2.5 trillion ‘jobs and infrastructure’ plan that Republicans have correctly called out as spending less than half on true-blue infrastructure (roads, bridges, highways, ports, waterways, dams, rail service, airports, etc.).

“Only 9% of the Democrats’ ‘COVID relief’ bill actually went towards COVID relief. Now, less than 6% of their ‘infrastructure’ bill goes toward actual infrastructure. They’re using this to pass far-left agenda items at Americans’ expense,” Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Ala.) wrote on Twitter earlier this month.

So, by Buttigieg’s thinking, why build more? Why repair existing infrastructure? After all, if it’s just going to be a ‘racist’ endeavor, what’s the point?

Because the legislation comes with a massive tax hike that will raise the cost of corporations doing business in America, leading to suppressed expansion, fewer jobs, and higher costs for consumers (who will be the real bearers of the taxes).

Here are more details about the legislation:

-Less than 6 percent ($115 billion) for roads and bridges

-43 percent more is spent on mass transit and rail ($165 billion) than for roads and bridges

-Less than 2 percent ($42 billion) for waterways, locks, dams, ports, and airports

-Less than 5 percent ($100 billion) for broadband

-74 percent more is spent on subsidies for electric vehicles ($174 billion) than for broadband.

-Meanwhile, most of the bill consists of non-infrastructure provisions such as:

-$400 billion for expansion of Medicaid

-$213 billion for housing and to increase federal control of local housing markets

-$100 billion of additional funding for schools without requiring them to reopen

-$50 billion for a new office at the U.S. Department of Commerce

-$35 billion for climate science, innovation, and R&D

-$10 billion for a new “Civilian Climate Corps”

-Overturns right-to-work laws in 27 states

This isn’t an infrastructure bill, per se. It’s a ‘payback to the left’ bill and Buttigieg’s claims that it’s racist not to pass it are not just wrong and disingenuous, but divisive.
