Rashida Tlaib Allegedly Sent Emails Begging Her Campaign for PERSONAL Funds, House Ethics Committee Opens Investigation

Rashida Tlaib Allegedly Sent Emails Begging Her Campaign for PERSONAL Funds, House Ethics Committee Opens Investigation

POSTED BY: DEAN JAMES

(TNS) Well, well, well…the Garbage Party has another opportunity to redeem itself in the eyes of tens of millions of Americans and regain some of its lost credibility. We’ll see if the party elders have the integrity to do it, though.

Fox News reports that the House Ethics Committee is investigating whether serial anti-Semite Rep. Rashida “Impeach the Motherf**ker” Tlaib violated federal law when she begged her campaign in 2018 to provide her money for personal expenses.

On Thursday, the committee released a trove of internal campaign communications sent last year by Tlaib in which she “urgently requested money from her congressional campaign to defray personal expenses — and, a government watchdog said, possibly violated federal law in the process,” Fox News reported.

The panel released the documents as part of an ongoing ethics investigation into Tlaib, which members said would be “expanded” after receiving a referral from the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE).

Also, the committee acknowledged Thursday for the first time that it was investigating another Democrat, long-serving Florida Rep. Alcee Hastings, over a “personal relationship with an individual employed in his congressional office.”

An affair, in other words.

The New York Post noted further that Tlaib, in an April 2018 email to her campaign, complained about how she was “struggling financially right now.”

“So I was thinking the campaign could loan me money, but Ryan said that the committee could actually pay me. I was thinking a one time payment of $5k,” she wrote in an email, which was released by OCE.

In another April email, Tlaib wrote, “I am just not going to make it through the campaign without a stipend,” Newsmax added.

The Michigan Democrat requested a “cost of living stipend” of $2,000 every two weeks, not to exceed $12,000 to cover “needed expenses due to campaigning that includes car maintenance, child care and other necessities.”

“Please let me know if I can proceed,” she asked, according to the Post.

Then, four months later in an email to her eventual chief of staff, Ryan Anderson, Tlaib asked, “Do you think the campaign can still pay me a stipend until the general. Trying to get out of debt.”

Anderson responded, “I think we definitely afford to do so. But we need to really clearly define your time and space.”

OCE, in a press release that recommended the Ethics Committee probe Tlaib, said her campaign committee, Rashida Tlaib for Congress, “reported campaign disbursements that may not be legitimate and verifiable campaign expenditures attributable to bona fide campaign or political purposes.”

Naturally, Tlaib and her campaign are denying she did anything wrong. But mind you, the DC bureaucracy is a lot more friendly to Democrats than Republicans — DC is, of course, a deep blue city.

So we have to believe these complaints have merit, lest they would never have been filed in the first place.

And frankly, if Tlaib is held accountable and removed from office, it couldn’t be soon enough. Congress could certainly do with one less anti-Semite in its ranks.
