Trump Hints That He Might Still Prosecute Hillary Clinton — “Some things just take a little bit longer”

Thursday Night President Trump placated a raucous Wilkes-Barre, PA crowd that chanted, “Lock her up!” The chants, of course, were a familiar rallying cry to imprison Hillary Clinton.

The President responded by saying, “Some things just take a little bit longer.”

Americans want to know how long it will take Mr. President.

We’ve heard this before.

During the Presidential debates Donald Trump shocked America by promising to appoint a special prosecutor to look into Hillary Clinton’s alleged violations tied to her private unsecured email server.

For those who need a refresher, here is what Donald Trump said to Hillary Clinton at the 2nd Presidential debate in St. Louis:

Well Mr. President, the natives are growing restless.

Trump supporters cite that the process takes time and that Trump’s Justice Department has worked against him through much of his early presidency.

Detractors might say that he never intended to fulfill his promise.

Trump made similar claims on The Hannity Show in February of 2016:

Onan Coca reported at the time:

When Hannity asked Mr. Trump if, as President, he would have his Attorney General prosecute Hillary Clinton, Trump’s response brought immense joy to the crowd.

“You have no choice… In fairness, you have to look into that. Now maybe she can prove her innocence. But it just seems to me that the public knows everything that they’re going to know. Emails have come out. She seems to be guilty. But you know what, I wouldn’t even say that. But certainly, it has to be looked at. If a Republican wins, if I’m winning, certainly you will look at that as being fair to anyone else. So unfair to the people that have been prosecuted over the years for doing much less than she did. So she’s being protected, but if I win, certainly it’s something we’re going to look at..

She’s running a very important race for herself.”

Here is another comment from that 2nd Presidential debate in St. Louis. Trump tells Hillary she would be in jail if he were president:

Thursday Night President Trump seemed to revive the idea that a prosecution of Hillary Clinton may still happen.

Think Progress reports:

When Trump mentioned Clinton, the crowd broke out in “lock her up!” chants. Trump responded by saying, “Some things just take a little bit longer.” He then complained that his Justice Department “only wants to go after Republicans. You look at the kind of criminal actions and crime — they only want to go after the Republicans.”

Anyone that doubts that President Trump’s republican colleagues have been working against him, has simply not been paying attention.

Even when House Republicans seemed poised to Impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Attorney General Jeff Sessions defended him and corrupt Republican leadership squashed the impeachment before it could gain traction.

So what do you think America?

Is President Trump being sincere?

And if so, can it or will it ever happen?
