This is tragic and scary. “Smart” roads are being promoted as beneficial and being installed worldwide despite a multitude of risks associated with them (see 1, 2).

Thanks to one elected official for asking for their elimination until they can be made safe.

Rotherham MP Sarah Champion said “it is totally unacceptable to risk lives in the name of cost savings”.

Transport minister George Freeman said a package of measures would be announced “imminently”.

Ms Champion asked the government to “take the opportunity of a recently announced review into smart motorways to change course and prevent further loss of life”.

All the electronic and wireless devices, sensors, and infrastructure needed for “Smart” anything emit “Electrosmog.” Research has already proven that exposure to Electrosmog is biologically and environmentally harmful.

Components necessary to make “Smart” anything require ecologically destructive mining for hazardous materials (see 1, 2) that often end up in landfills as toxic E-Waste.

So how much more has to happen before we eliminate “Smart” roads and other unnecessary and hazardous “Smart” technology?
